A six-member team of Indian solar physicists, led by Prof. Dibyendu Nandi of Bengaluru’s Raman Research Institute (RRI), was among just three teams worldwide to make an advance prediction of the Sun’s coronal structure ahead of the August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse.
The other two were teams from KU Leuven, supported by ESA, and Predictive Science Inc., supported by NASA.
It was an honour speaking with Prof. Nandi and learning about the science behind this remarkable prediction. 🔭
