Scientists Find New Method To Recycle Fishing Nets Into 3D-Printed Products

Exciting Research Update from IISc Bengaluru!
Scientists from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru have developed a quick and practical method to recycle one of the toughest plastics—Polyamide 66 (PA-66 or Nylon 66), widely used in fishing nets, car parts, and industrial materials.

I had the opportunity to speak with Professor Suryasarathi Bose, the corresponding author behind this breakthrough, to learn more about how his team’s innovation could transform the recycling of hard-to-process plastics and make sustainable materials a reality.
